Now I can say, I have officially seen it all....

W9TR...exactly right. I was going to say that for the general populace a $1000-$2000 power cable (heck a $200-$300 power cable) is insane! Let alone the tens of thousands spent in gear, speaker, signal cables, power cables etc...the $80K power conditioner is an extreme manifestation of what is already an extreme audiophile subculture that is willing to spend premium dollars on premium equipment.

It is all relative.

What amazes me is that they spend all that money on equipment, and their systems are still sadly lacking, due to poor set-up. In fact, I've never experienced a good set-up in those cases.

Well, I suppose it’s a matter of time before we’ll see a $100K conditioner. Maybe this company will do the Elite “SE” model with a limited production run for $100K! 😆

Perhaps they will offer an upgrade program for early adopters of the non "SE" model for a modest $25,000 fee + shipping of course! :D

Maybe ignorance is bliss in my case but I imagine there are some knowledgeable dealers that sell pricey equipment and take the time to do proper setups. I can't define a proper setup but I like what I hear and feel my dealer takes the time and has the expertise to get the job done in a satisfying way.

I hope everyone making fun of this absurdly priced magnetic plug receptical understands that in doing so they are being self deprecating as the lot of us (or most of us) engage in expenditures on audio equipment (and tweaks) that most sane people would likewise say “now I have seen it all”.

As someone said, it’s all relative.

How a 600k speaker or 40-50k speaker cable “makes sense” but this is ludicrous is just drawing an artificial line.

Let’s face it, most of us are considered SERIOUSLY ILL by the “normal ones” looking into our little crazy world of audio.

But yes I agree, I think this 80k magnetic plug receptacle is absurd.

Power is either measuring clean across the entire spectrum and unrestricted or it isn’t. Am I missing something?

For 80 large, I want it to generate the electricity too! Maybe someone out there will purchase because they can.

Plug your fridge in it and the food will taste more delicious.

But remember, and I quote from the listing:

“Magnets used inside this particular unit are gold-plated in all critical connections. This gold plating helps for a more liquid type of sound by allowing for a more malleable connection.”

So is this more like a Tice Clock or an Ansuz System?
If this were $4000 would it still be a laughing stock?
By the size of the IEC connector in the picture, this thing is big enough to ride!

OMG, what horsechit !!

The power of Capitalism. If it can be measured; it can be monetized in a myriad of ways.

As long as manufacturers continue to find buyers they will keep asking astronomic prices for their items, worth it or not.
One benefit from overpriced items like this is the trickle down technology.
Now about the BMW. If it were a 7 series I'd be in. LOL

The higher the noise/interference frequency, the easier it is to filter.
Above 1MHz it's easy, the difficult stuff is between 6000Hz and 100,000Hz and much of this noise/interference is generated by the components in the hi-fi system.
