New User needs help with set up

Hello Lumin Forum

First post here.

Could not find videos or any dummy proof articles on how to setup a Lumin D1 (w/ LPS) that I have coming to me this week.

Question, I would like to use just an external HD via USB to the Lumin. I will have the Lumin connected to my router via Ethernet cable. I will either use an Android or Apple Tablet to control what files I want played with the Lumin app. All my files are ripped .wav using dBpoweramp CD Ripper.

How do I go about setting this up once I unbox and wire connect everything? Thanks!
 
The usb drive connected directly to the LUMIN needs to be formatted properly.


  • USB storage, flash drive, USB hard disk (Single-partition FAT32, NTFS and EXT2/3 only)
 
Will I still be able to stream Tidal etc with this type of setup?

Any disadvantages with sound quality compared to NAS?
 
The lumin app can be downloaded from the apple App Store or android App Store. That lumin and app update themselves, the lumin will dhcp an address and you need WiFi on the same network to tie in the iPad or tablet to the lumin.

Setting up a Lumin is really plug and play. In the rare event that something goes wrong, Peter is here to provide second to none support.
