New! SUPERNAIT 3

I don’t think you did. NAIM 5 level sources are the starting point for building a 5 series system. As the NAIM folks say, source first.

You got it Mike! Source First, that's my motto and I'm sticking to it:D

Thanks Joe. The SN3 is wonderful. Going to try it on the B&W’s next.

Mike

We really enjoyed it for the two weeks we had it. It will sound good out of the box. But it will sound great after you have it running for 48 hours. Adding a HCDR is almost a must to really let it shine and bring out its potential.

I agree, at least in part as that's what I did. Had an NDS with my SN2, and actually committed to the ND555 while I still owned the SN2. But got a great deal on a slightly used 252/SCDR combo just as the ND555 was arriving. ZERO shame in getting Naim's best source and building from there!!

Not sure on the dealer question. I never had a SN2, so I really can’t say. Just now getting into NAIM in a big way. Love the toe tapping musicality of NAIM. I plan to add a Hi CAP DR, Streamer and XPS PSU.

The SN3 sounds fantastic out of the box. We are trying it on the Fyne’s.

i’ve got Harbeth 30.2’s and there a lot of them on You Tube. I think the best I’ve heard are with Hegel 300’s which I believe you carry. I have a Naim SN2 and have an SN3 on order. I’m curious to hear what you think of the SN3 compared to the Hegel, Luxman, etc.

I’ve had a Hegel in the past. Nothing wrong with it. I like the Naim sound and enjoy it over the Hegel if I had a choice. Hegel never gave me the PRAT that Naim gear does. At least not in my system. Truly enjoying my SN3 with a HCDR paired with an NDX2 and power foundation and cabling by Ansuz. The noise floor is so black it’s spooky

Speaking of an Ansuz foundation, I added the new Ansuz Power Switch D2 and it was like moving up to a Mainz DTC.

I have the Ansuz Mainsz 8 A2 power distro box. I couldn't let myself spend more.
I had the Mainz DTC and sold it along with my DTC cables. I couldn’t sleep nights thinking about the amount of money I had spent on them. I went back to a Mainz D8 but then traded it for an A2.

i had just bought an audiophile grade switch and had no interest in the Ansuz Power Switch. My long time dealer and friend told me it’s the power section that makes the difference. I bought a D2 power switch and found that it was like getting my MainZ DTC back.

So people need to consider the power switch as a device that can improve the whole system.

Is your switch adjacent the rest of the hi fi? My switch is 2 floors above, with a looong run of Cat-5 from it to my ND555 2 floors below.

It’s on the same rack as the rest of my system. I’m using an Apple Airport Express to connect to my Apple Router. I was using a long Audioquest Ethernet but found the wireless connection sounds better. I was going to buy an Ansuz X2 Ethernet for that run but I’m happy with the way it is.

I’m using an Ansuz X2 Ethernet from the AE to the Ansuz Power Switch and a D2 from the switch to the ND555.
