I decided to replace my flexy stand with another Sanus stand to go with the other one. The flexy stand was not very sturdy laterally as a small push would send it oscillating back and forth with a period of a couple of seconds. The new 4 shelf Sanus is play sand filled and has very little lateral movement, it is surprisingly sturdy. The pillars are also much better damped with the sand. Rapping them with a plastic handle would make them ring like a bell before, now there is just a dull thud. The only problem was that the lower most pillar did not seal in the sand completely as when I filled the other posts and tapped them to settle the sand, there developed a small pile on the rug (a tablespoon worth). I sealed these posts up with some caulking and problem solved.

For not a lot of money, I like the Sanus stands. The new one is on the right.

Your new Sanus stand is my old Sanus stand. I can't believe I used it for as long as I did. I'm sure glad it's out of my system now. Need to throw it in the trash so it can be hauled off.

I love my new SRA rack and my Audio Vault rack.

I do have a Nobility magnetic levitation rack under the turntable which has brass cones. Other components have either brass feet or isolation footers. The racks do not provide the best isolation from vibration but they are strong and stable. With the footers this is not a problem.

Are they as good as the SRA rack? Of course not but at 1/40 th the cost of an SRA rack they are a good value.

Plus you filled yours with sand which should help.
