New speaker cables

Great news Jerome,

While I haven't heard these new silver cables of yours, I've read about them, and wanted to add one for those of you whom aren't afraid to try a slightly cheaper brand that makes some of the best sounding pure silver cables I've heard to date compared to said Shindo Labs and Audio Note/Kondo silver cables as heard in a friends system, said line is called Clear Day Cables, and are generally sold as a match to the size of ones drivers as well as overall sensitivity of said speakers, and more surprisingly was the bass response as heard on these cables was one of the most deepest, most responsive low ends I've heard to date, and whom said silver cables can't do bass?, I'd beg to differ.

But sound wise, these cables were amongst some of the best I've heard/owned, but as we all know, there are times where we've to cater to either the sound we need from either our beloved amps, or speakers accordingly?, once again, it merely comes down to what we then feel is lacking in our own systems that matters!, yet voicing our systems to suit our preferences is of the upmost importance in long run.

Nice read, as always Jerome, and interesting take of the differences cables do/can make, if chosen wisely.

Jerome...Yes you can clean the bare wire ends, but unfortunately it travels up under the sheath longer term. 15 years ago, I was a bare wired man, now that tarnished wire is gone... :(

You can always terminate yourself with cable pants & say Furutech Flux connectors. They compliment silver nicely. Just ask Siltech! (no soldering required but use a spot of silicon before closing the barrel).

Thanks Steve ! Will try that !

Thanks a lot Oscar.
Very interesting.
Actually the bass improved also by a wide margin. It is super clean now. Like if all the "fat" part has been removed. Still I have enough "meat on the bone" to be happy.
I was no more into cables anymore or anything else in hifi actually, but the price was too good for not trying them.
And I'm so glad I did !

Interesting comments. Maybe it was that the WW cables were not a good match with your EMT. Would be interesting to see how your emt does with the new cables.

You're welcome Jerome,

Like you, I've voiced my system by ear over the course of the last two years, and am at a point, where I know it's good enough ( until something breaks that is ), and am now finalizing 6 more tweaks here and there, all under $600 per I might add, and system wise, I'm done.

For me, I wish to go into the New Year only buying more and more Music, and Tubes.

The madness stops with us.

And I know all to well what you mean by " meat on the bones ", and even more so by the statement " happy ".

Enlightenment starts within, does it not!.

Enjoy.

Jérôme, the biggest difference for you will be after you have heard your system for a good month or so with the new cables, put the WW SE6's back in. I guarantee you won't make it through 3 songs & the first descriptive word that comes to mind will be mud! Yes that will be at 24/48/72/96 hrs etc. for the pedantic's

So you are saying your system sounds bright and too much treble ???

No it's just the size of the cables that is a problem i am looking for smaller ones and flat if possible like the Nordost Red Dawn but naturally USED i'm a poor man i don't buy new.:)

My current speaker cables ( Tara Labs Temporal Continuum ) i love them BUT they are huge.

Yes! I have had the WW SE6 in some of my systems for some time, the speaker cables being better than the i/c's, or to put it another way, they play better with others when mixing brands than the WW SE6 i/c's. From the silver plated copper I went to solid silver, the difference to me was huge, the comparison was a descriptive "mud"....;)
