ah thanks for that , so must make sure any next purchase of a connect is gen 2 so this will work

All I have is slightly older Sonos gear. One of my Play 5 speakers dropped out after an update. I eventually had to run a network cable to it to get it back on the network. Once back up, I was able to disconnect it and everything is back to normal.
