Heard it this morning. VERY impressed! There were no typical digital artifacts. Very musical. Would love to compare it side by side with the HD DAC from Nagra.

Did Nagra also have the new Classic Integrated Amp running?

Mike...are you sure. I thought their Nagra HD DAC was in the $15-20K range. This new Classic DAC was supposed to be the more "affordable" option given it's in the Classic series. The HD DAC is a 2-piece affair with tube analog output stage (separate power supply chassis). Seems to me with one chassis and no tube output stage that the Classic DAC should be quite a bit cheaper.

The HD DAC runs $23k-$27k depending on whether you choose the (2) regular power supplies or the upgrade MPS unit.
 
Thanks Mike for the update, any idea which pre-amp was connected to the Dac ( the Jazz or the Melody).

Yes I'm sure. HD DAC is $25k.

No Jazz or Melody pre in the video.
Looks like they used the new Classic Integrated amp and Classic DAC, CDP as transport, MPS (power supply unit). MPS was likely powering the CDP and DAC. I can't make out what the little unit is between the CDP and DAC but it might be a Nagra digital recorder??

The Swiss way of life is clearly detached from the rest of the world.
I have no doubt that this new dac sounds great. But there are many many other stunning dacs way below this price.
I was hoping something near 8 or 9000 euros.
So I just need to wait a few years for second hand units.
