Seemed clear to me they said a new DAC but not a replacement for Discrete or Premier.

This is not a Discrete or Premier replacement! We are evaluating the future of the Discrete and Premier currently, because materials cost have risen so much since they launched. But at this time, there is nothing in the works to replace either of those models. They are still the best MSB sound for the money

From a product perspective, there is a clear gap between the Premier and the Cascade. My guess is that this is where the new DAC will be placed.

I hope so, the cascade is a bit rich for me. Maybe something right in the middle.

It's the Palisade DAC, and it fits below Cascade. It's a two box DAC without external power supply.

Based on Daniel’s video of the new Palisades DAC, this unit is very likely to be a great seller. A DAC with essentially the attributes of the bigger brother, Cascade, with a simpler implementation (2 chasis vs 3). If no need for a DAC with analog inputs, this is the one to get!

Not looking to do anything more big this year. But I already use my Premier + DD as DAC only, with a separate Pre-Amp for analog input.

I would be interested in the trade-up options for this DAC, not sure I could swing upgrading to the Cascade.
