New Luxman d-10x sacd/cd-player

Maybe the styling of the 10 is a preview of what the replacements for the C-900u/M-900u will look like?

Musicaly fast dynamic natural, incredible details and 3D black background - all in.

Housing is a tank. My dealer got one of the first.

I believe that to be a very quick and excited assessment, unless of course you work for that Dealer or spend hours every week in there listening to associated gear. We all know that you don't truly know anything about a piece until you've lived with it for a while and even compared it side by side with what you currently have and enjoy. Different sound very rarely translates to better. Its very easy to convince yourself that your new component is better when you actually just spent 100% more on it than what you previously had.
 
@dznutz - seriously? You actually don't think the D-10X will sound better than the D-08u?

“Better” is completely subjective. So I dont know... but at the same time I also never stated that it wont sound better. Im simply very skeptical of any one with a 3 minute audition, in some place and with some accompanying equipment jumping to a glorified assessment.

Plugged this guy in today and WOW - it is sounding superb. I've only tried the usb input so far, and no hint of digital-ness straight out of the box. A very full sound - kind of like going from solid state to high quality tube amp. Instruments have a natural decay that sounds very characteristic of actual instruments heard live. Unfortunately, i'm not qualified to compare with the d-08u but I think the d-10x is definitely something to consider for anyone wanting their digital 0's & 1's to sound musical/analog. I could perhaps see myself moving on from the 900 combo at some point to try something else like tubes maybe - but the d-10x is staying - it's a genuine keeper, guys.

Envy! So envy. Was just informed that mine will be delayed till end August and earliest would be first week of September. At the same time I was told, If I’m interested - the CL-1000 & MQ300 would only make it to this shore earliest end Dec or even Jan 2021. Well, that’s good news to me cause my itch for them would be cured (or died) by then, I hope! Meanwhile, I’ve to keep salivating and read up your posts! Sigh! Congratulation!!!
