New Lumin X2

This looks very interesting! No more SABRE. Fully discrete dual mono DAC section with a new Femto clock.

$18K MSRP

Available at Suncoast Audio.
Lumin has been doing some of Esoteric's software under contract. Now it would appear that they are following Esoteric's DAC hardware direction with an in-house developed discrete component delta-sigma DAC and an upgraded clock. Looking forward to hearing more from the X2.

Awesome, I have been a long time customer of Audio Two. Starting around 2014 when the original owner (Glen) had a store in Windsor Ontario. I have also been a customer of the new Owner (Michael) and visited the store in Lasalle.
I have moved away now, but still have ties to the area. I own a P1, so I might take a road trip to hear the new X2.
I have a few photos from previous visits.

The difference is profound between a $5k to say a $15k DAC. One sounds like a computer, the other sounds like music. But hey, just keep listening. I have found the Aqua LaScala DAC under $10k as that one exception to the rule.
Mike, can you explain a little about the La Scala as a value proposition?

In the spirit of the thread, the LUMIN X2 looks like a grand slam. Looking forward to more reviews. I can't help but wonder how it compares to the upcoming Esoteric N-05XE.

The Lumin looks good for sure. The new N-05XE was launched today. The LaScala is a R2R ladder dac and uses tubes. Very analog sound, especially if you roll the tubes.
