I'm checking into the Lumin models these days... They seem fantastic, yet some models (like the S1) are going on 4 years old now. I know they can be updated, but I'm wondering if new models are in the works. It would be too bad to spend the money on something like an S1 only to have a new one come out shortly thereafter. Does anyone here have insight?

Thanks!

While I’m very happy with my S-1, there’s been a lot of development in the digital space. Lumin has done an exceptional job updating its products to support MQA, Tidal, and Roon at no cost to customers. But, I would expect some new products on the near future.

I would like to move my S1 into the HT/spare stereo, and put a better Lumin in its place in the stereo. However, I do not want to see a better Lumin at Esoteric prices.

I have received a PM asking when we will see a future model. Thanks for everyone's interests, but I cannot answer this question.

Those who are going to Munich can ask my bosses about it. We've been pretty busy preparing for Munich.

From Lumin's Facebook page, another teaser to keep us going... :celebrate008_2:

2 days to go!

Our team have just touched-down in Munich and are preparing something special for the show attendees.
Stay tuned!

Probably hors d'oeuvres for the attendees. :)
You can enjoy your hors d'oeuvres right now!

Anybody knows what these pictures mean? The top right hand corner picture is much harder to guess.

It's an FPGA by Intel called cyclone 4. Its programmable to do whatever the manufacturer wants, its a base system. As far as I can see, the photos show mostly that. I guess, they are trying to say, they have a new player/server coming up with an updated fpga. However, this is not the best series of Intel fpgas, they are a lower cost solution, but most probably more than enough to do the job. The best ones are stratix series, and then aria. After aria comes the cyclone series.

It looks like a two box solution, A Transport ( one box) connected to and a supporting DAC/Streamer is my guess.

Good guess, but no. The top one is a network player with analog outputs. The bottom one is...
