Greetings from the west valley in sunny southern california. Long time audio person who first got hooked by listening to Pink Floyd through stacked advents in my college dorm with a dynaco amp. That led to a long series of increasingly expensive visits over the years to Chrisopher Hansen Ltd., LA Audio, Sound Factor, Digital Ear, Brooks Berdan, Optimal Enchantment, etc. Listen to everything, but have a soft spot for well recorded music played live in a "real" acoustic space (ala the Harry Pearson model). Also love me some deep electronica and ambient, and have been a shameless Brian Eno fan since the early Roxy Music days. Btw, have been looking at the great thread on best sounding albums with much interest (and have been somewhat surprisd by a number of omissions -- e.g., Tin Pan Alley by SRV, Stimela by Hugh Masakela, the James Boyk Beethoven Piano Sonatas, Three Blind Mice Midnight Sugar and Misty, and, of course, For Duke). Will make sure to post my top 20 best sounding when i get the time.

Current system is old modded VPI HW 19 mk iv with modded Alphason Tonearm and latest Blue Point Cartridge, PC Based music server w all solid state memory (using JRiver and DB Poweramp, fwiw), Channel Islands USB converter, Berkley Audio Devices Alpha DAC, Parasound JC 2 Preamp, McCormack DNA 500 amp and the old Quicksilver Monoblocks, Vandersteen 5 speakers. Audience AU24 SE interconncts with Nordost Blue Heaven speaker cables. Have a second system based around Peachtree and other electonics and Audio Physic Virgos.

Always interested in hearing other people's systems and learning new things. Go to CES High End Show every year. Have already had some great PM exchanges with a couple of members here and am looking forward to more.

p.s. What ever happened to IAR and Peter Moncrieff?

Stacked Advents! :celebrate008_2:
I had those back when I could understand the new music and a new album release was much more important than a new amplifier release. Just an old folkie here :singing:

Welcome Mitchel from Don, way up north.
