Audio Research is putting the finishing touches on the all-new SP20 preamplifier. The SP20 combines a tube line stage with tube phono preamplifier and headphone output, and will be the first time Audio Research brought together these three formats into one chassis. The SP20 combines convenience, ease-of-use and overall great performance in a single chassis.

So this, paired with some headphones, would be a nice one-box solution for listening to music while reading in the john...:)

Bill...what will the SP20 be comparable to in sonic terms relative to existing linestage and phono preamp line-up from ARC (i.e., equivalent to LS-27 and PH-5 for example)? Just curious where it falls sonically? Do you have a sense for timing?

Cyril that's getting closer but still not there as I understand it. It's certainly below a REF5SE and a REFPHONO2SE. After that all bets are off until I hear it which should happen soon.
