New Corvette C8 - mid-engine

Guys, don't get me wrong, as I indicated I am on the fence with the new design. I have seen a few that look great but a few colors that do not do the vehicle justice. I also feel the vehicle looks very different in person than it does in photos.

Another car that I was all set to purchase from the initial photos I saw was the Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo. When my dealer called to inform me they had a couple in stock waiting to be delivered I drive over to have a look. The car just didn't look as good in person. Also please remember these are just my opinion and should have no effect on whether one decides to purchase one.

What color do you like?

Car snobs aren't going to buy the C8 anyways so looks be damned (altho' its growing on me). A short term lease for a weekend/track and hooning around car has been ruminated in my head, this fits the bill. besides, I never once cared what the outside of my ride looked like when doing 150 mph down the front straight at Big Willow:lol: for that matter, who has time to stare at the interior, touch its surfaces, etc. if you're enjoying the car as intended.

The Black and Rapid Blue were not to my liking. The Zues Bronze looked nice as did the Long Beach Red. I don't think I have seen Silver, Yellow or either the lite or dark Grey. The one I was behind with the wing was Sebring Orange and it looked cool in the late afternoon sun.

How many have you seen in person?

I believe there were 8 @ Carlisle this past August, got to sit in one. I'm 6'1' 240#, fit like a glove !

I know a lot of old fart Vette owners like myself are not in love with the mid-engine but after 43 plus years of owning Corvettes I'm on board with the change 100%

My favorite is the silver blade.

And, while I like the C7, I'm looking forward to test driving the C8. Having owned a mid engine car before, the driving dynamics of this type of configuration can be very satisfying to car enthusiasts.

I’m leaning silver. But still TBD. I have until Dec 3 to decide.

Agreed. Once you’ve driven a mid-engine, front engine cars drive like Dad’s Buick (with a few big exceptions like the present C7 and 812, among others).
