New amp to drive Sonus Faber Olympica III - Hegel? Coda? Mark Levinson?

Thanks for the reminder. In my case, it was impossible to make a mistake because my Siltech is bi-wire

Hi Boris,
I am late, sorry.
You seem to be sad to leave your Luxman 590 ax2, not enough power for the SF. I wonder why the Luxman L 509X was not on your list.

Even Luxman 509 looks not enough powerful for SF Oly 3. Hegel 590 drives it well.

Thanks.
Some day, if you have the opportunity to listen to the 509x on the sf, I shall be very interested in your feelings compare to the H 590.

Ok. However, I have now decided that I will avoid tight speakers. Even if I really like them :-)

Incidentally, I sold all of my Harbeths and added Dynaudio special forty to my small system. They are good and do not require much from either the amplifier or the cables

Two years ago, I had the opportunity to buy an ex dem H590. The seller told me if I want to listen first to the Luxman l590 ax2. It is worth it , he said. But it was to far from home. And I found a second hand Luxman 590ax2 and got it. I am very pleased with it to drive my Triangle Magellan Quattuor. So, I have no idea about how it can sound with the H590.

Luxman electronics have a great synergy with Triangle Magellan speakers, they've been used together at shows for many years. Are your Quatuors the latest 40th Anniversary editions? I have the Magellan Cello 40th Anniversary edition speakers being driven by the Luxman C-900u and M-900u electronics and the combination is quite captivating. Triangle has made many evolutionary advancements in their 40th Anniversary Magellan models but the previous versions were also very well received. Enjoy your fine system Eustache, and welcome to Audio Shark! :hey:

The H590 is my first choice for the money, it's a bit forward in the mids that works in my room, but its the control in the bass that cinched it for me. I tested my hearing myself at home on my system and found I'm now deaf above 10khz so can't comment on how the unit does up top. I would think that beautiful Sonus Faber midrange would do well with the h590.
