Never forget 09.11.2001

... and God bless all those wo helped out afterwards, cleaning debris and looking for bodies and such. Those people are just as much victims, suffering through lung cancers and other fatal maladies after breathing in all the dust and asbestos and such during those first few days/weeks.

+1

So many hero's, 9/11 showed how bad but also how good mankind can be.

I was there when it happened. He and I remember it like it happened yesterday...

Those who were working downtown that day will never forget what it was like at the time, or in the hours afterwards when we all played the "escape from New York" game. Yeah, that day is burned into my memory too .. all of it, and the many days afterwards when we didn't know what was coming next.

I remember the day they opened things up again and we went into work. You could only take the subway down as far as Canal Street. Then there was a cordon of police and barricades checking ID's. Nobody was talking much. Dead quiet all around. We walked down the block and some workman dropped a brick into a trash bin with a hugely loud BOOM! The whole street jumped 2 feet in the air. He just started laughing at us (asshole).
