Naim that tune ... Supernait 2 and HiCap-DR

I hate to say it, but I have no desire right now to switch it out. The CJ gear is my ultimate, but ALL THOSE TUBES, oy!

+1 :woot:

So you've had your share of amps come through your place. How does the little integrated stand up to some of the big boys, i.e. Dart, D'ag, Mc, etc... that you've auditioned?

I wish I had discovered Naim a long time ago. Maybe it took all these other brands to realize what I have now.

Nothing wrong with that logic. For some people, going to shows and having stores to listen to gear at isn't plausible. Many times you just have to buy what you think you might like and hope you can get lucky after a few trial and errors. Others like to buy and sell many pieces of gear to hear the differences between pieces and figure out what they are looking for. I think you hit the nail on the head. After hearing many different amps you now know what you like and what you don't like. That's a great position to be in.

Delighted with your TAD - Naim synergy. Perhaps tubes winter and naim in the summer. Not sure which amp to recommend when you listen to "Rites of Spring". Been very busy at work only recent purchases r music and a SR alpha digital power cord for my Dac. Did you still have S3 in near queue to evaluate. For now me and my cr-1 r very happy

Congrats Joe on your new Naim!!!

Can you tell me how the speakers are connected to the amp? spades?,bannanas? I don't understand Naims connections??

I sort of understand your love of Naim...I heard them connected to a pair of Wilson Audio Duettes and I fell in love with the sound. It's too bad Naim doesn't have other finishes besides black...a great dust collector. :snicker:

Thanks Doug. I love your attitude.

Hi Nick,

Ha! Very funny. I've noticed you've been quiet. I'm really amazed at what the Naim does for the TADs. I had put the word out that they were for sale and have a commitment for a sale. They might be gone Saturday, but if I had realized earlier what this combo was like, they never would have been for sale. I am still interested in the S3 and possibly Wilsons. I do have a pair of Harbeth 40.1's coming in a few weeks, so they will keep me busy until I finally decide what I really want. It's time.

Congrats Joe on your new Naim!!!

Welcome back! I've missed you. Thank you so much. They work perfectly with banana plugs in the back of the unit or their own cable which comes standard with a plug that mimics two banana posts. Easy as pie. The sound is amazing. It's music for sure.

Naim worked well with Raidho. I only had my naim system with my D1s but they would have been good w the D3s

My prob was that I was on a waiting list to get my 500 series naim gear upgraded for over a year. And without being updated, it just didn't compare to the Ayre I had and certainly not the D'Agostino. At basically the same new price level. And I gave up. So I sold it.

I'm not trying to say the Chris at Naim Audio Service & Accessories Recap Rebuild Restore | Olive NAP500 NAP250 NAP135 NAIT NAC52 DR Upgrade TibiaPlus Z-Plug PDC | AVOptions.com isn't great. Because he is, amazing work and honesty. But I was on the upgrade list from summer 2012 to fall of 2013 and he couldn't get me in.

The guy I sold the preamp to sent it to Chris and he got right on it for him. No clue the circumstance. Maybe just me.

Bottom line - I would buy their new statement in a heartbeat if I could hear it in non show conditions. (edit, who am I kidding, there is no way I can afford it :( )

The Naim Statement seems like an amazing system. If I win Lotto, I'm there. :)

Joe, it's so exciting to hear you're loving the SN2! Have you compared the amp without the PS vs with?

Hi Sean,

I have not used it without the HICap. I know I probably should but everything is so good I don't want to touch it. It is such a small package for what it does that I can't believe it. I have been reading the Naim users forum and everyone loves theirs both with and without the power supplies. I can't wait to hear it on the Harbeth 40.1's. I think my Dynaudio C1 sigs would have been awesome with this amp . You have made a perfect choice.

And the name sounds cool too.

As they said :
