Anyone owned or tried the Nagra VPA Monoblock power amplifier? How is the noise or hum level on high efficient speakers?

Thanks in advance

I wish I can be of more help regarding this particuar model, but I have never heard a Nagra component that I didn’t absolutely love. Heard many different models at many an audio show. I am sure I heard this model in my travels. If I could afford any of them I would certainly buy them. And they don’t try a win any “size/weight/bulk” awards either. They are understated and fabulous.

I"ve also enjoyed every one of their products that I've heard. They make very nice gear. I've never critically listened though. I don't know many who sell their stuff near me.

They are dead quiet on my Verity Parsifals which admittedly are not considered high efficiency at about 86db.

I had the PLP and loved it. I had a pair of the predecessors to these amps and thought they were 'Good to OK' but nothing to write home about.

These are hands down the best amplifiers I’ve ever owned period. The only amp I can enjoy Kind of Blue on and see it’s greatness.

Back to the original question :

Hum and noise level as measured with an ac voltmeter is below 1 mV and can be about 0.5 mV with careful adjustment of bias balance.
However due to mains frequency spikes this residual may be too high for very efficient systems.
At this moment I am not aware of any way to improve it.
