I have one and it’s pretty awesome. I absolutely love the all in one package and it honestly sounds great. The M33 specifically and NAD in general have great big wide soundstage and wonderful sound. I think it sounds better on some speakers than others so you’d have to try it but I’m pretty amazed with the whole package.
Thank you very much Joe. Can you tell me what speakers you have tried with the M33 and which ones sounded the best? I know the Purifi amp modules it uses are very clean and revealing. I am mostly concerned the front end preamp section is equally as clean and revealing.
Both the Franco Serblin and my Haydn Jubilee sound amazing with the M33. I'm using the Luxman now because I waited so long for it. Both have their strengths, but I could easily live with the M33.
I bought my M33 after auditioing a dozen amps at home over the previous 2 years or so. In fact I chose the earlier M32 as the M33 hadn't been released but overall the M32 was my choice. The M33 is subtly better in all respects but in particular the streamer (add-in module in M32) is included as it Dirac Live DSP. I find the Dirac reduces a little of the life from the music, so I choose not to engage it. Despite the fact that only sub 500 Hz frequencies are adjusted by Dirac, the additional processing that Dirac requires affects the entire range - well that's my explanation! The M33 is a great amplifier and a bit of a bargain too.
I use the NAD with Avantgarde Duos - originally 2006 vintage, now XDs.
I'm sorry I can't help with that as the M33 is an integrated and in fact I've never owned a tube preamp. NAD do a power amp (C289) that has the Purifi module and is very well priced I believe. I imagine this would sound great with a tube preamp. I'd also like to hear from anyone who's used this combination. Sevenoaks Sound and Vision - NAD C 298 Stereo Power Amplifier
