Nad c 298

Cool... so on their site NAD lists the M33, M28, M23 and the C298 as their Purifier products. There is a design presentation difference in the two series. The C series is obviously designed to be heard not seen :).

I doubt there is an audible difference between the two series, but the M23 is $3499 versus $2199 for the C298. If I were wanting one to sit next to a M33 on the shelf then the M23 would make sense, but for my use the C298 is spectacular! Having a plan black box on the bottom of my rack providing power does not bother me :D.

The M33 and the C298 have both won about every award that an audio amplifier can win. Unfortunately, good luck getting a C298 or M23 at this time. One dealer is listing the C298 as In Stock, but all others I checked are listed as Out Of Stock. All that mention the M23 state that shipping availability is unknown at this time :(.

NAD description of their use of Purifier tech, in all four models.

"NAD's UNIQUE IMPLEMENTATION
NAD’s renowned designers worked closely with Purifi Audio to customise the Eigentakt implementation to ensure every product featuring the technology would meet the high standards NAD is known for. For this reason, NAD manufactures its own Eigentakt modules rather than buy off-the-shelf."

Makes sense for sure.

My amp does sit on top of the media console in the living room, very visible. You can see where the enleum is in my system photo. A little extra $ keeps things looking very visibly better and goes a long way to help the female half - an interior designer - digest the $ spent on "you bought something new?!".... Not that it's her money lol.

I am considering selling this quite amazing NAD C298 amplifier. They are very hard to get and mine works beautiful (and is virtually brand new). Of course, box, etc., etc. It is not even broken in yet, but I would definitely put it near the top of amplifiers I have tried.

The only reason I am considering this is I just got a classic Mc amp to complete my "Mc Stack". The NAD may very well be a better amplifier. It has more power and is really clean sounding and pretty superb bass. But the McIntosh completes a Mc Stack which is what I have wanted. It sounds very nice, definitely the McIntosh sound, but most importantly it puts a smile on my face and that is most important to me.

Message me if you might be interested. I have not posted it as of yet but may do so in a few days.
