Good story Brian !
My wife is very similar, she hates how big my Salon 2's are in the living room ,but when I mention getting new speakers, she says "You're not selling my speakers" !!
She loves the sound of our system. I've had a lot of different amps in here to try, the only one she liked as well as the ones I've got is Joe's little EAR 890 tube amp. She still comments on it.
The best thing she does is turn to me and says how thankful she is to have me, because otherwise she would of never been exposed to all this great music !!!!!
Awesome guys, glad I'm not alone!
My Father, who passed a year ago at 94, my wife and now 3 year old listened to music very nearly every night. My Dad loved to dance and owned some interesting gear, Mac 1700 and a pair of DCM Timewindows which my brother has now. My first initiation into audio was a xmas gift of a Sony BiDirectional reel to reel at 10. Dad and I (sorta with Dad) built a pair of Bose 901's in a flat cabinet from plans my dad got. As I recall, they sounded terrible! But they were so different and cool (1972?) and they played loud and at 16 or 17, who knew better.
Even now we listen to music as our pastime. My 3 year old was completely familiar with powering up the Joule Electra VZN100's with its big-ass rheostat and pretty knows how to operate most of my junk except for the Computer audio stuff for which I still struggle with at times! So Jr (our 3 YO) insists on playing Muse, Sia, and Magic Forest from Hidden Beauty (a jewel of a CD) and Neil Young of course

And if I showed you the video of Jr at 2 Years old rocking on the coffee table playing to Ry Cooder, well crap, here it is. Nough said. Oh and check out his air guitar. If you don't fall off your chair, there's something wrong with you.
