My turntable project is finished !!!

Wow Rob! Just fantastic! No modern TT or hardly any modern TT beats a legacy TT in my opinion. Just designed better back in the day. Easier to work on, easier to set up, etc. Hey, if you can swing it, you know what would go well cartridge-wise with that table?...An Ortofon 2M Red.:)

Rob, I assume the new finish is paint. What did you use? How much prep work did the surface take?

wow...sorry I did not see this sooner....

Prep
Clean completely with soap and water
Tape off what you DONT want to paint
Then use a kitchen spongey (you know, yellow sponge one side, green scrubby other side) to rough it up the surface
Clean that with mineral spirits to get rid of the dust you made roughing it
Spray is the gloss type that is primer and paint in one (spray can) made for plastic or metal

The table surface is actually metal (people always think they are plastic)

3 coats 20 minutes apart

I do the sides first then the top - that way I don't get runs down the sides - but all coats at one meaning
spray 4 sides, spray top
wait 20 minutes
spray again
wait 20 minutes

if its good, don't add 3rd coat

For the arm base, I masked all the parts and did the same, cleaned, roughed, painted in a semi-gloss black

she was ugly when I purchased but mechanically awesome
