Hello folks, Just a few words to share with you again how much I love my Shindo gear.

I thought I would sell my CCQs for reasons I won't discuss here. But each time that I have a potential buyer, I reconnect the Shindo amps and get fully in love again with them.

I remember very precisely in 30 seconds of any music while I felt deeply in love with them. And I change my mind. No other gear gets me drawn in the music like Shindo. I am listening to the music. I forget completely the system. This is truly unique in my experience of hifi. My Shindo set up ( Giscours / CCQs ) is the only one to give me such pleasure. Its sound does not impress all visitors. Many amps can be more impressive. But the Shindo sound involves me in the recording like no other one. Shindo is not for everyone. But it makes my soul vibrate like no other gear. And I bet that's the same for all folks here in the Shindo forum.
Long Life to Shindo !
I will die with my Shindo set up.

Jerome, as an almost buyer of your CCQ, and an eventual buyer of CC80 to go with my Vosne Romanee, I agree completely. I have other setups I enjoy, but there's something about Shindo on my Westies that's really enjoyable and puts me at peace listening. I too will never move my Shindo setup, maybe only add to it! :-)

Why won't you discuss it?

To avoid a polemic.
I can say that I thought about selling them because :
- The CCQs give a very powerful bass with the 40.1. After 10 or 11 O'clock on the volume of the Giscours ( depending on the recordings) the bass is so loud that it "eats" the rest of the spectrum.
Finally that is not a big deal for me. I listen at an average of 70 dB. At this volume, the CCQs and 40.1 are terrific.
- I listened during 2 hours to Halgorythme SET amps on the 40.1, and I found the sound to be better, especially in the mids. But the bass was not as clean and deep as the CCQs.
Finally I realized that instead of being "better" the sound of Halgorythme was just different and that I may prefer the Shindo on the long term.
Moreover, I may one day buy a Shindo or A23 speaker. Although I do not think one second to part with the 40.1, it is cool just to have this option in mind.

What really separates Shindo from all the other brands I own or listened to, is the superlative delicacy.
These electronics have the priceless quality of respecting the music at the highest degree. They are at the complete opposite of a "demonstrative", impressive sound. Although they can surely rock and they have slam.
The 2 other brands I know that have a great delicacy too are Dartzeel and Nagra.
Great electronics. But they do not reach the same level
of delicacy and refinement as Shindo.
I would be curious to listen to Kondo but since I cannot afford them, I do not really care. Anyway Shindo is at the top of the mountain for me. Above that is the sky and I have no will to go there ! :)

Hey Jerome, great to read you are in a really good place with your system. I can relate to exactly where you are coming from where once you recognise just how world class a component/s is/are in your system, so much is changed. I have the same with my preamp & although I have less than 100 hrs on my Ayon monos I am starting to think the same of them. In a way for me it's sad as I love the hunt & chase of new gear & realising just how good the new find is exhilarating, but, I'm pretty sure my retirement fund appreciates it when I find the real keepers as you have. As I get older & with more many thousands of dollars spent chasing the dragons tail I am really starting to miss some of the gear that I have passed on & very true to the word am a bit disappointed in myself too at where my systems quality of sound is evident as I have made a wrong & unthoughtful choice. I now have a preamp , mono amps & a set of bass generators that I won't part with. Excuse me, DHL is at the door..........
