My P3ESR's....

I am considering a Heed Obelisk for my P3's, which I bought earlier this month. Another good choice would be the Croft phono integrated.
But if you are doing digital only, maybe the Heed would be the way to go. No tubes, and I thought it sounded very good with the P3's.
I have yet to hear the Croft, but have heard great things about it matched with Harbeth. The listening room I heard the P3's in was
around the size of your room. How much power to go with is a tough call, but my room is a bit smaller than yours. Congrats miner42,
which finish did you get? Cherry for me, but Rosewood is awful nice. My dealer said they did away with Black Ash. so I think the 3's are
only available in Eucalyptus, cherry, and Rosewood…?

I just purchased a pair of P3ESRs for my office system ($1575) - should I consider a stand? No integrated amp yet but what power output should I shoot for? My office size is 20 x 25.
(1575) that is good deal.. Did you buy brand new miner42..?

Second hand 9.5/10. Rosewood. I bought some isoacoustic stands recommended by Zero for my desk.

Adam, why not look for some nice Rogosz stands out of Poland where you are? They are beautiful and well made. I was going to buy a pair in the States for my Trenner & Friedl Art's but didn't feel like spending $1,000 US. They are around half that price in Poland I believe.

I should have my on Thursday. ..can't wait!

Congrats sonnyv. Mine are still in their boxes. I'm not even going to attempt to hook up my low power Shindo amp. I have to wait until I get an integrated, to get mine up and running. What will you be using to drive yours. Keep us posted.
Cheers -Don

Hì fjn40..! I'm gonna try with my cary sli80 first and if not enough juice will do with 805ae. Also wanna try with me ss amp mc 252...!

Mmm- 4 6550's producing 80 watts in Ultralinear. I don't know the P3's well, but I would think the Cary would drive it nicely.
I drove Spendor 3/5 R's in a smaller room with an LM 211. This worked well power wise, but was a bit on the darker side.
I did prefer the Ultralinear mode, which was around 35 watts, using 4 EL 34's. I'm looking forward to the Harbeth's.

Jerome,

Remember when a few months back, I sugested you try your P3ESR in a bigger room ?

Guess what - I did just that, lol. I borrowed a pair and put them into my hi-man rig for the first time, where my Magicos used to sit.

They sound AWOSOME ! Crazy good. What a sound from such a small boxes ! The soundstage is vast, they go much louder than they have any right to do, the sound is big, opulent and very 3D. Chet Baker, Belafonte it just sounds so realistic, so ... right.

No, they are not better than Magicos, but at $2k ? This speaker must represent the best value in the whole hi-end.

I do have them in my summerhouse system and must admit I am not missing anything during the summers, although I have Magicos in my main system.

while my P3ESR's sit on Custom Designs stands, my M30.1's are on Rogoz, and they are excellent stands!

I got P3s three weeks ago. Indeed, remarkable speakers. Mine are on Sanus stands filled with sand and blue tack between the plates and speakers.
When I listen to the music I pull them on the carpet into extreme near field listening, bring the chair in between, toe them in and put two blankets from sofa on TV. One really needs to hear them to understand why they sound so special.

...I also ordered a pair of REL T Zeros and can't wait to hear if this will be a British connection made in heaven.

I saw your system in FB. Looks so great and I'm sure Vinnie Rossi amp works extremely well together. Congrats. Oh btw love your white color too

Just a quick update from my side. I've received T Zeros two days ago and been running them in 24h/day. I am not sure if this was illusion, but it seems they really needed some running in time as the bass appears to be cleaner and tighter now.
I was doubting whether these small subs (-6dB @38Hz) would work well with P3s. Well, let me tell you right now, T Zeros are a great complement to P3s. They really impressed me and made P3s sound much larger (even though they sound larger than they appear without subs too).
There is no marks on the crossover knobs on the subwoofer, but there are 40 points between 30Hz and 120Hz. I set them up on 12th point from 30Hz up. If this 90Hz scale on the crossover is linear, I'd say the 12th point should be some 57Hz.
There is a still a bit of questioning myself if I should have gone with two T5s instead of T Zero. T5 has an 8" driver, and is rated -6dB @32Hz. Yet, I was not sure if these would integrate as good as T Zeros and the footprint in a bit larger (my wife really digs those small T Zeros).

Excellent! Glad you are happy.

Who couldn't be with these little miracles. :)
Here is a photo with the subs. I put the crossover a few clicks lower and turned the gain a bit up. While I said the integration was easy, obviously there's always room for some improvement too.
This is the final setup as of now.
