My wife was just going thru some old stuff from the shed and found this old pic of my Pioneer stereo I had a very long time ago. The tape deck had auto-reverse so you didn't have to take the tape out to play the reverse side.

So that's what "auto reverse" means!

Sweet system there George. I had a Pioneer SX-6 as well. I always loved it except if you had to turn it down really fast you just couldn't do it with those paddles. Had to hit the mute instead. A friend of mine had the tape deck, I just had a crummy Teac.

So that's what "auto reverse" means!

It would rotate the tape head by 180 degs. and read the opposite side of the tape.
