Yes it can, on account of the low THD numbers it makes. I think Elgar got out of the conditioner market some years ago (I think they are just doing AC power sources now) so you have to find a used one..

Is there a way to measure for the 5th harmonic? For example, is there a device we can plug into a conditioner to test whether its actually filtering out the 5th harmonic?

I'm not trying to argue with you, but on the subject of power cords and power conditioners I have to go with the Caelin Gabriel. His products have won more awards and accolades from recording studios, reviewers, and customers than many companies. Even more important, he explains how their products work, and as an engineer, I appreciate that. Finally, most important of all, every freaking product of his I have installed in both my stereo and HT has made a big, positive difference.

I have both the Alpha Digital and Alpha Analog. I started with the Alpha Analog on the AMG power supply and thought it did indeed reduce the noise floor to some extent.
For that reason alone, I recently purchased the Alpha Digital for the S1, but have not even listened yet to see if it's readily noticeable.

Yes. Fluke put out a white paper on this topic about 20 years ago. Seems to me they make an instrument that could do that exact thing.
Its both, just as I said. His products get good comments from our customers too. I'm just pointing out that the term 'power conditioner' is describing a device that processes AC power coming from the AC line or power source and does not process power coming from the equipment in use. Do you see the distinction?
I'll be getting a home demo of the Alpha Digital, always best to use your own ears.
A shame that's not possible with custom PSUs.
One last question for the experienced here - which AES/XLR cables for the Lumin? I was looking at these:

I don't find that the Lumin performs better with one interconnect from another. I do believe that depending on your complete system, that the interconnect between the Lumin and preamp makes a difference. But this is system dependent not Lumin dependent.
I have 3 Lumins in 3 systems and use 3 different interconnect manufacturers.

Thanks Jock. Considering your experience with three different Lumin setups, do you have any ideas or suggestions to connect the A1 to the Simaudio Moon 600i integrated amplifier?
Side note - I was close to purchasing the Woo 234. Great amp! I'm using the Moon 600i to drive Abyss AB-1266s and the HE1000 (and KEF LS50s).
PI Audio recently came out with a devise called the DigiBuss, which is designed to keep noise from digital equipment plugged into it from entering the AC line.

I'm really not too sure as I've never heard the Simaudio. I'm using a Shunyata Anaconda from a Lumin S1 to the Woo 234. I'm also using RCA because it sounds better than the XLR. Obviously the Woo is SE so I'm sure that has a lot to do with it.

I had the HE1000 before but returned them, they sounded dull and flat. They were being driven by the Moon 430 headphone amp, which I have recently found out, is not the best pairing with the HEK. Great with the Abyss, however.
Big fan of the Abyss here, a different experience altogether :¬)
The Moon 600i will drive them both to their fullest :¬)

Hi Joe, now I narrow down my search on Lumin S1 - Aurender W20 - Linn Klimax DSM and I saw that you've enjoyed your Lumin very much but I don't see it anymore on your signature. You stop loving it?

I still love it but I had an opportunity to get the new Ayre QX-5 Twenty dac and use it with a modified Sonos and as a Roon endpoint. Works great for me. I've had all the Lumins at one point and if you've seen any history on me, I tend to change out gear a lot, maybe too much, just because an easy sale or purchase comes along.
I don't have any experience with Aurender but wanted to buy them many times. Right now I am in a bit of a holding pattern until I can get something that fully implements MQA. I was hoping my Ayre dac would do it but realize it may take a long time for that to happen.
A few friends owned Linn streamers and if you do not need/want DSD, they are supposed to be great. For my money now, I would have no problem going back to Lumin S1/A1 but the Aurender is supposed to be fantastic.
I am sure others will chime in on their favorites.

I try and keep an eye on the forum and look for new members and help in any way that I can.

If I'm not mistaken, W20 does not have analog outputs.
Lumin S1 has analog outputs and BNC-SPDIF output to external DAC. S1 does not have USB Audio output.
If you require USB Audio output and have no use for analog outputs, Lumin U1 is more appropriate for use with external USB DAC than S1.
Linn does not play DSD or decodes MQA. Lumin plays DSD and will provide support for MQA in the future. If you are or will become a Tidal subscriber, you have access to MQA music at no extra cost.
Among the three brands, only Lumin is Roon Ready right now. Linn - not yet. I read somewhere Aurender eventually decided not to support it despite earlier indications.
Did Ayre say they're going to do MQA? I read some rumors, but I doubt their accuracies due to the MQA-related comments Charles Hansen made.
Thank you for the link. No, I don't expect MQA to be implemented in the QX5 but remain hopeful. Those comments seem to put it even further back as an option. I know that MQA may not be a panacea for streaming audio, but in some instances I like what I hear and if it costs no more than a firmware upgrade or a dac with it already implemented in hardware, I'll take it - even if it's a somewhat better/alternate streaming option.

Congrats on the Lumin U1. I am auditioning S1 tomorrow and U1 is in VN in June I heard I am quite sold on the side of Lumin U1 right now. If you receive a black U1/S1 order from VN it should be me Too bad Vietnam is not yet allowed to subscribe to Tidal or anything like it yet :-((...
