My mountain of Yamaha amps

Background: A couple of years ago I took early retirement to look after my dad. I was a support engineer from British Telecom and couldn't juggle being on call 24/7 with trying to look after him as he slowly failed.
After he died, I then had time to do what I wanted and I realised I couldn't quite bring myself to put down the soldering iron. So mixing my love of hifi and engineering, I started buying broken amps, restoring them and selling them again. Not really making a profit, just loving the work and stopping these things going in to landfill. I seem to have ended up just doing Yamahas as I love their looks and sound. I put my back out for this picture. Most of them are nearly finished and just need a good shake down.

Those look great!

I have a friend who is a huge Yamaha fan. He works on them as well. I haven't paid them much attention in years. I earlier this year heard a Yamaha set up at an audio show and was really impressed.

My main system uses a GaNfet class D amp. It's fast, detailed and musical and I do love it. However I restored a battle scarred Yamaha Ca-2010 that's nearly fifty years old. It really gives it a good run for its money. I'd be happy to live with it.
