The new arm (in beta) is absolutely amazing.

Impressive! Significant R&D at VPI. Their range of tables is probably the widest of the industry and yet they continue to push the higher end while remaining reasonably affordable.

They also have an active forum on their site in which both Harry and Matt engage their customers. Well done by VPI!

Mike - did they show you how they 3D print those arms ?

The arms are CAD designed in house and printed by a long time supplier (who just happened to also start doing 3D printing). The machines are many hundreds of thousands of dollars. VPI thought about doing the printing themselves, but the machines were $400,000 for a used one when they began looking into it. One of their long time suppliers for another part mentioned they did 3D printing, and the rest is history.

No. It's essentially like a double Avenger. Sonically vs the Avenger (same arm, same cart) at Harry's, it was superior. Bigger soundstage. A real sense of stability and ease. Everyone heard the difference. The Avenger Ref is also excellent, but this new table was even better than the DD. But it's also going to cost substantially more, so you would hope to hear a difference. For me, I love the Avenger DD - all things considered. Love the speed stability of the DD.

Mike. Great pics. Thank you. The folks at VPI are very gracious hosts. I was up earlier this month and Jane showed me around. Glad to see VPI continues to be a successful audio company. They really deserve it - great people and great products!
