My beloved the Harbeth speakers is gone...Now what ?

You know what man? I say... be bold. Sure, Harbeth makes a wonderful speaker, but there are tons of other great designs out there. Give something completely different a try. Ya may be surprised by whatcha find. :D

Great advice!

I'd shuffle off to Buffalo :)

With a side trip to Niagara Falls perhaps????????????????????? Paul, sounds like you didn't want the Harbeth's to go so consider the SHL5's or maybe a pair of ProAC D28's or(the list goes on and on).

I hear you....BUT the Harbeth has their own sounds which NO one can come close. :) Well I will visit the Audio show this sunday see anything catching my ears and eyes. :)

Yes, I'm still considering the SHL5 as well....But not in rush. My VA Music and Rogers LS3/5A just doing the job quiet well.

Seems like the ProAc is doesn't get much attention from people these days. :sigh:

You might want to shoot Bob Neill an e-mail about dealers for Reynaud in Canada or if there are any. Bob was a Spendorand Harbeth man for years, before he reviewed the Reynauds for PF. When he changed over was long before he became the US distributor. The distributor was Victor Goldstein of Fanfare in NYC at the time who I got my Offrandes from after being introduced by Anthony Perrotta. They were in fact the review sample. Bob picked the line up after Victor had them pulled and there was no distributor in the US for several years. He should be able to tell what he found compelling about each brand and why he switched. His e-mail is [email protected]. After he became a dealer and distributor he voluntarily quit reviewing equipment for PF as he felt it was a conflict. He now only reviews music. Always found Bob to be a straight forward and no BS guy.

These two reviews from Bob from PF and ETM talk about what he heard from the Reynaud's in relation to the Harbeth 30's and 40's.

Reynaud Offrande Loudspeakers by Bob Neill

offrandes

I have also owned the other two Reynaud models he references, the Twins (now the Bliss) and the Trente (discontinued) and his descriptions of the differences of the two lower priced models and the Offrandes is accurate for those versions. I think the Offrandes have gone through about five more revisions since then. The Trente was the bookshelf version of the Cantabile.

Jack .... Thank you so much .

"If your relation to music is primarily emotional - not to say starry eyed, if monitor-like accuracy leaves you wanting something more, especially in jazz or chamber music, these may be your speakers. "-That's me for sure :)

I'm not sure they will be a display in the TAVES.... hope they are.

Beautiful speakers Paul, they remind me of some transmission line speakers that I had once. Auditioning speakers can be a lot of fun and at the same time very stressful. I know how much you loved your Harbeth's and finding that sound elsewhere might be difficult. Let us know how it goes.
