What streaming service do you use and why?

I signed up for Tidal last night because well...I'm home recovering form a skiing accident...I have nothing to do...and my buddy o0OBillO0o influences a lot of my decisions while I am on pain meds!

Here's a photo of me saying to myself, "oh gawd, what have I done!" I think I am hooked.

Skiing accident? Psh. I swear a part of my butt is still on some mountain in Maine. :D Hope ya get better.

And people think that skiing on fluffy snow is not harmful to your health. I have spots on my body from 10 years ago I can still feel.

Tidal, it just sounds right.

Tidal, Pandora, Spotify, RadioTunes, JazzRadio, RadioParadise, CalmRadio, McIntosh Music, iHeart Radio, TuneIn Radio and Amazon Music.

I think that's all of my subscriptions

Tidal here. It has allowed me to discover and enjoy hundreds of albums I most likely would never have purchased. Easily worth the 20 clams a month. Plus, with both Tidal and Lumin on board with MQA implementation, there's that to look forward to.

Zero...I was coming down the mountain fast and making a hard S VERY BASIC UNEVENTFUL right turn when my right boot snapped out the the right ski binding. I'm just guessing because I am not a scientist...but lots of momentum happening? Anyway, the right ski continued to move into that turn but also swung back striking the back of my right calf muscle just above the boot. Result, it cut through and severed my right calf muscle. It brought me down to my knees. Or rather...add a bit more drama... a gasp of loudness erupted out of me "many curse words". At this point, just thought it really hurt...and some cramping. I refuse to be a wimp and so I though...I'll get over it...despite that my face seemed to go numb. I ski'd down to another lift and went back up! But as the shock seemed to wear off...the raw pain increased...particularly as I continued to ski that run...I noticed that I had poor control over my right leg and when I got down the hill I noticed blood and the pain was just awesome! Sigh... 4 chair lifts out form the lodge... I manged to ski mostly on one ski holding my right leg and ski up off the ground. When I made it down to lodge, I downed two strong drinks...then took the final lift down to the lower level and called a taxi to take me to ER. The doctor said I am out for what is left of the season and nope, no other work-outs either - which sux because I a fitness nut. He did give me an ample supply of Percocet, though.

My mom nagged me and I reminded her that older folks throw their backs just tying a shoe and falling at home breaking their hip - or whatever. I'm not going start watching and to stop playing sports.

Ugh...Zero...do you stream and if so, what source?

I just use the internet radio stations that are in the Manic Moose software with my Bryston BDP-2. I was looking at Tidal as well, perhaps I will join up in the future.

Golucid,

Dang guy. You're a beast. As for being a fitness nut.. bUWHAHAHA If I could, I would introduce you to the wonderful world of being a fatty. :D

As for streaming: I don't. The closest I'll come is watching videos on Youtube and checking out new music on sites like 8Tracks.

I got started with Deezer early on and haven't found a reason to move to Tidal. I tried ROON as I was interested in its integration with Tidal but I couldn't get ROON to be stable on my server so never made the switch.

There res have been very few cases where I couldn't find an artist, album or song I wanted to hear and it always sounds great.

If Roon integration isn't important or available to you and you haven't chosen a streaming service yet, I would get Tidal or Deezer based in which one cost less.

UPDATE - for Lossless CD quality streaming, Tidal is $20 a month and Deezer is $15 per month.

I stream Spotify all day every day via iPhone/Jawbone Jambox when I'm working.

On my big rig, I only stream Tidal via my Aurender/Esoteric K01X. Tidal sounds fantastic. I'm amazed how damn good it can sound when you consider the 'signal path' from Tidal server to my server. Amazing really. I have compared hi-res files and cd spinning in K01X and Tidal gives up very, very little. A no-brainer to get a tidal subscription.

@David, I'm surprised it took you a year with the Aurender before you experienced Tidal.
