What a all encompassing photo journey. So many questions came to mind as I was viewing them.

Thanks for posting.

I admit it; I'm an addict, I get a huge crush on electronic audio gear and mechanical loudspeakers and big shiny snakes (cables).

...All in the pursuit of higher level of musical purity, in order to get that chamber Classical music band (or Blues, Jazz) in my room.

Thank you for sharing the pictures. Some nice eye candy for sure. What I noticed is that the manufactures went all out to showcase their products, colors, coordinating shapes to match their products, presentation is everything , very well done. And, turntables are still being produced :audiophile: in the age of "digital", Not to mention so many vendors I have never heard of, wow. Of all the shows I've been to in the states, this show in Munich is on my list for a little 'bucket list trip' in a few years it's setting reminds me of going to the Detroit International Auto show, eye candy everywhere.

ps: the wife walked by when I was looking at this page, the first thing she said, is "I want those chairs", had to ask

anyone know the maker

also intrigued BY Gobel unique radiator like tweeter and the great looking Estalon Extrema. Anyone heard them?

The Goebels are quite nice sounding, but IMO they are missing some upper end airness and resolution good tweeter can provide (raidho springs to mind). They are also VERY expesive.

I think I would rather get more conventional speakers - like Rockports or Raidhos (if they fix their bass issues, that seem top plague all their upper models from D-3 to the new D-5).

What a great show! Three days of walking, talking, looking. But most of all: listening! You'll be able to hear most brands in high-end audio. A must do. I will be back next year! :snicker:

A few conclusions. It was a horny event ;) The horn speaker was the big hit. I have heard 20 or so. Most amazing was the Japanese guy who demoed what he claimed was the worlds first loudspeaker system. A giant horn that sounded remarkably good. He played Maria Callas and Jimmy Hendrix and with new gears connected that sounded great.
And of course the highest-end available with stunning demoes from the Cabbase La Spère and the Focal Grande Utopia III. The absolute highlight was the Magico reference speaker that was simply the perfect sound reproduction.

Thank you. There definitely seems to be a lot more horn speakers on the market these days. Volti's Vittora's rule in that department as far as I'm concerned. Would love to hear the big Magico ones.

Adam, have you listened to the upgraded or a pair of the latest D3's which would have the upgrade incorporated into it? Definitely no "bass issues" since the upgrade has been done in my situation anyway. You are welcome to come and hear for yourself if you haven't heard for yourself as of yet. Jump on a bird and fly across the pond!

Love the new D3's!!! Listening to them now with the D'ags.
