I have a MSB Platinum Data CD IV that has been collecting dust for many years. I like to resurrect it, but I have misplaced the included desktop power supply. It is a 5 pin DIN, and the manual shows the pinouts (3 GND, 2 +12V), but there is no other info regarding wattage, etc. Anyone know I could get an appropriate PS ? There's lots of 5 pin DIN PS available, but its difficult for me to find out how they are configured.

I couldn’t find it either in the manual, and gave artificial intelligence a try. According to Microsoft copilot it operates at 12 VDC and 36W at 3A. But best to put this question to MSB for a final check.

If you don’t get an answer from MSB I would try 12 volt and 3 Ampere, I thought if you keep the voltage at 12 volt the worst thing that could happen is that it is underpowered won’t break and won’t start up, but please at your own risk and I am not responsible of a broken player, because I am not 100% sure.

Either email the guys at MSB, or look into their rather new forum. A lot of direct answers happening there. They respond to email rather well too.

Thanks, after I made the first post I emailed Vince Galbo at MSB and he responded that they do not have any of those power supplies and that I should get a linear power supply, 12v, at least 4amps and then construct a cable with the appropriate pinouts. I spent a couple of hours digging around Ebay and decided it wasn't worth the cost or effort. I was able to sell the unit without the power supply, although I sold it pretty cheap. I will both laugh and cry if the original power supply reveals it self now :).

I’ve kept our old Diamond IV transport and PSU for shows. You always get the guy with his favorite CD show up. That being said, this year, I’m not bringing it. Last year we had too many old geezers coming in with their CD’s containing the most boring music and essentially, clearing the room.

That's hilarious!
