MSB Bit Diffusion Technology - upgrade for Cascade owners

The matt stainless accent looks terrific.

Those Sentinel DAC modules look like something out of the Apollo Guidance Computer.

I took delivery of my upgraded Cascade yesterday and spent some time listening to the system last night and this morning. I don't know if the hardware changes require any burn in. My impressions are based on what I heard during about 2 hours of music after a few hours of warm up last night and the entire evening to acclimate this morning.

First MSB: They turned the DAC around in two days from receipt. Just stellar performance don't you think for an upgrade that was already free except for modest shipping fees? I am impressed.

Now the sound: Because of my room and system, I have to say the margin at the top to improve performance is not overwhelmingly large. The Pink Faun Dual Ultra, Cascade, CH Precision pre and power amps, Rockport Orions, Nordost loom and a room full of acoustic treatments were already giving me sound quality the likes of which I have not experienced in 30 years of pursuing "better". Yet, even after just a few tracks of my favorite Chesky and Mapleshade disks, there it was: Better low level detail, sharper lines between separate voices and richer mid range and treble frequencies. I'm not going to tell you the sky opened up and angels sang (like with the PF server upgrade) but the difference was noticeable and extremely pleasurable. I am happy with the result.

Congratulations and thank you to MSB for their over the top customer service and technical innovation. If you own a Cascade, the two weeks of down time for this upgrade are a VERY small price to pay for what you will receive. Highly recommended.

That’s great news Eric!

Mike let me borrow for home listening the PF dual box and the newly upgraded MSB Cascade. I can summarize my impressions by simply stating that my system has never sounded better. A great digital combo.
