MQA encoded UHQ CD’s from Japan

Saw this in a MQA message today.


Universal Music Japan has also released 100 titles on MQA CD. The limited edition releases have been carefully selected from Universal Music’s rich catalogue of rock, classical and jazz acts, including classic recordings from The Rolling Stones, John Coltrane and Martha Argerich.

We continue to work closely with the music industry and our delivery partners and will make sure we update you with all the latest news and developments from MQA.

Actually, they ripped to ALAC since I use iTunes. No matter what setting I tried on the Lumin, 44/16 was all that was played.

This is fixed in Lumin Firmware 11. This issue was related to MQA inside Apple Lossless (ALAC) only. MQA inside FLAC, AIFF, or WAV did not have such issue.

A friend told me about this site in Germany. Over 400 MQA downloads available. Many not available in the US, but a lot are. Search toward the back of the list. The 2L label has many available in the US. I am guessing that others are available in the EU, maybe Asia.
