On occasion, while playing an MQA album track, the MQA indicator...to the rt of the currently playing album cover,in the left upper corner, will suddenly change and say...'16/44'... i do not hear an audible difference ,when this happens, but am wondering if the track is playing MQA or 16/44...?.

Track 2 also shows MQA. If the file doesn't have the MQA flag my Rossini will not play it thru the MQA filter. It show up as 24/48.

By the way, thanks for the heads-up on this release. I will listen to the entire album tomorrow. So far it is excellent.

Jim...you are welcome. It is a great disc. Thanks for your help.GREAT SYSTEM!!!!

I think I have come across MQA albums on Tidal with some MQA tracks and some non-MQA tracks. I suspect regional licensing restrictions may also be involved - some MQA music is available in some regions but not others.

If the Lumin front panel is turned on, music is playing (instead of paused), and the front panel doesn't say MQA, then it is not MQA or the bitstream integrity is destroyed (possible with certain Roon configurations due to DSP or volume levelling, should not happen with Lumin app).

Peter...thanks...I will, watch the Lumin front if indeed the app MQA designation changes...

Peter...in the middle of the 5th track it changed to 48/24 flac which the Lumin front panel also stated.i did not hear an audible difference.

Interesting issue, have not noticed anything like that. I will check what it does on the Nyquist and report back.

Reporting back: In general the stream is played as MQA w/o interruptions or issues on the Nyquist.

When switching tracks manually I do see that for the first 500 ms or so PCM is displayed, before it switches to MQA. I guess that is a result of the DAC catching up with the unfolding and decoding when switching tracks.

Once I noticed, when switching frequently between tracks and fast forwarding the buffering in the Internet connection could not keep up and then the signal switched a couple times between MQA and PCM. But I guess that was a result of me tampering with the stream through frequent switches and I was not able to regenerate the effect.

My guess is your DAC switching to-and-forth is more of a Internet connection drop-out issue than an encoding matter, as the MQA signal appears to be ok generally speaking.

Btw: I set up a new thread for MQA listening, please post your new finds to share the love if you’ve found something nice.
