Move to Lumin U1 -- Aurender Features I Miss

Went for a Lumin U1 because I wanted to try the AES/EBU into my DAC2x. Aurender X100L sitting on the bench, but there are a few features I really miss:

--physical controls on the device itself (often quicker and more convenient to pause just pushing a button than futzing with the ipad);

--fade out on pause/fade up on re-start (sure, the abrupt 'no sound/full volume sound' is no different than a CD player off/on, for example, but why not take advantage of what software can do?);

--"clear except currently playing" (Lumin has something similar but for some reason if you're in the middle of what is to become the final track the Lumin will restart the track after deleting the rest of the playlist rather than letting that track just play out).

Also, I seem to be experiencing a bug where if I stop somewhere mid-track then start back up a while later, the track will pick back up where it left off but abruptly stop a minute or so later before the end of the track, as if it was only playing out whatever was in the buffer(?).

I suppose I'll have to sub the Aurender back in at some point to get a feel for whether there's real SQ improvement from AES. In the meantime, my question for those who have played with both Lumin and Aurender, are there some off-setting benefits from the Lumin interface that I'm overlooking?

For the "bug":

- Is this music playing from Tidal / Qobuz, or is it a local music file from NAS or USB storage? If it is streaming from Tidal / Qobuz, they tend to disconnect the music after a short period of inactivity, which will result in the behavior you see.

- Is custom resampling turned on for this music? If yes, what is the source sample rate and the target sample rate?

Yes, all Tidal. Haven't tried any stored files yet. Whether or not Tidal disconnects after short period of inactivity, Aurender would pick right up and keep going strong after a pause, even an overnight pause.

All rates are set to native except dsd 128, which isn't relevant to anything I've done with the unit so far.
