Came across post elsewhere discussing these speakers, Daedalus Audio. Stunning woodwork using 3/4 thick solid hardwoods.

Anyone here ever owned or heard any of the lineup?

Loving the solid timber look.:thumbsup::thumbsup:

I've heard them a few times - twice at RMAF and once at Dan Wright's facility in WA state, as he uses the Ulysses as one of the sets of his demo speakers when he has visitors who want to listen to his gear.

The new versions of the speakers that have been introduced over the past year are a marked improvement in terms of extension, resolution, and coherence over the previous versions. They are very high efficiency and work well with both low power tube/SET amps as well as higher powered solid state. I will seriously consider them when I'm at the point of being ready to upgrade speakers.

I've met Lou Hinkley a couple of times and spent a lot of time with him at the last RMAF I went to. Like Dan, he is also a great guy and fun to be around.

I recently purchased three sets of Lou's Daedalus Isolation Devices (DiDs) for isolation support under my tube gear. They are fantastic, and I will be writing up a review on them here shortly.

they look like 70s towers of power to me, but to each their own ;)

best looking wood speaker would be a good forum topic.

They are always on my short list of speakers to consider buying. Sometimes I still regret not getting the Ulysses, although it would have been about 50% more than what I paid for my current speakers. As it turned out, I made the right decision because I would be wanting the Orpheus now :D. Because of their efficiency and power-handling capabilities they can be used with almost any amp on the market.

I have a Daedalus Athena V.2 speaker. I previously owned a Daedalus Ulysses. Within the price range of $15k, I haven't heard a speaker that I would rather own than Daedalus. They are excellent and suitable for all music genre. Very dynamic and musical.
