I went with a friend who wanted to listen to some speakers, we wandered into a shop where we listened to a set of Dynaudio Contour 60i. The system sounded great, it leaned warm but not so much there was a loss of detail or lack of anything.

The speakers were driven by Sim Audio's Moon North 791 streaming preamp and 761 power amp. My opinion of Moon's sound in the past it was typically good but seemed a bit dry and something I wouldn't want in my system, not bad, just not my taste. The North on the other hand was quite nice and I could be happy with that set up. We also heard the same separates with a set of YG, I forget which model, they were about $30k. The North was equally impressive driving them.

The 791 preamp is $16k and the power amp $14k, 200x2 into 8 ohms 400 into 4 ohms. IMO the package offers some real value even at a total of $30k for the pair. I really enjoyed, their sound.

I used to carry them. Due to lack of support, I would never do business with them again. When things break, they will blame you, the customer. I posted about this a couple of years ago with screenshots. From my experiences, not a company I would ever do business with again. YMMV.

I have had a couple of their pieces in the past. A headphone amp was very nice but quite over the top expensive for what it offered. I also have had their phono amps. Their little guy might well be the best value around. I also had a higher model which was spectacular. I ended up moving on because I wanted one that could do both MM and MC at the same time.

I did remember you having an issue with them. They offer a 10 year warranty but if they won't stand behind it what good is it.

They will do everything to blame the customer. We had three cases including one idiotic one where they claimed the customer tried to plug the RCA cables into the AC outlet and that’s why the board fried. What an idiotic statement. They are a bunch of morons. They should have 200% tariffs for stupidity.

Always good to highlight when hifi companies act terribly.
