When you listen to mono recordings (Beatles, Dylan, Hendrix, George Szell) do you disconnect one of your speakers in order to achieve authentic mono sound?

If not, why not?

No....a good mono recording will fill the space in between the speakers with glorious music. Use the mono button if you have one on your pre, but that is not necessary. Even in stereo, the mono recording comes through both speakers evenly with the same music and intensity.

Too much trouble. Moving the preamp's mono/stereo/reverse switch to mono is enough extra work for me! I agree with Rockitman in that the music fills the space just fine with or without switching to mono.

...much prefer stereo recordings. Sure there are great performances only on mono...if I'd have my druthers.......
