First listen today with my new D'Agostino mono blocks. They are taking the place of Mark Levinson ML53's. Very similar in detail, articulation and bass control. Even after an hour I could hear the major difference. The Dag's are definitely sweeter in the mid range. The soundstage is also a little more forward than the ML's. Very, very impressed and satisfied. Sax, vocals and orchestra have nice weight without any loss of attack. Doesn't get much better than this.

Cincy - that's excellent news. The Dag monos are a little lighter in the bass and should work wonderfully with your Raidho's.

Congrats Cincy !! I have heard the Dag monos with the D3's at Jock's house, and it's a great amp match for the D3's.

Congrats!

When is the preamp coming? See how easy it is for me to spend your money? :woot:

The Dag’s do need more input power from my DAC than the ML’s did to get the same volume out. I have two scales of DC output from the dCS DAC, 0-2V and 0-6V. I needed to change to the higher output. Will have to listen a while to see if I can live with it or if I’ll need to get a pre-amp again. The Dag’s are a lot more efficient with power however. I have a PS Audio power plant driving each mono block along with half the remaining electronics. The load on each plant is now around 15% vs 40% with the ML53’s.

I'm two weeks into the break-in on the Dag Monoblocks. I'm not sure if the amps are improving or if my Opus cables are burning in. The end result is more "meat" on the bones for the sound. I am the complete opposite of a tube guy but I have to admit that there was a quality in the tube sound that I admired when I heard the very best. It was a body or weight to the music that gave it emotional impact. Right now, I'm hearing all that in a solid state product. Its like the difference between watching a 4K high definition video of sex and actually participating in it. Both have their merits but the latter is more enjoyable. I have to say that these amps are the best overall product I have ever had in my system. Bravo Dan D.

Wow Cincy, you certainly "fleshed out" that description :) of how your Dags sound. I'm so very glad you are happy with them.

It sure is nice when all of the stars align.
