Has anyone purchased this? On vinyl? I like the currently popular track "Lampshades on Fire" but I hate compressed CDs and vinyl made from the same compressed master.

Save my $$ or buy now? ( prefer vinyl )

Not yet, but the cover art alone is worth it..

Like you, I was worried about it so just bought the CD for 10 bucks.

Historically, there have been some excellent Modest Mouse re-releases on vinyl, but I'm not sure on the sound quality of the new one.

Not bad at all. Vinyl is quiet and most cuts are 3 dimensional and open sounding. There are a couple that sound a bit compressed and not as lively, especially the last cut on side 1. Bass is good not great. Overall I think it's a good purchase but I like Modest Mouse.
