Purchased a set of MITerminator 2s in the late 90s. After that I stopped buying monster products. Pulled them out of storage a couple weeks ago to run a couple monoblocks to my Martin Logan Quest Zs and decided to cut them down to one meter. Pretty complex wiring inside that tested my soldering skills. Work

I think to understand the genesis of what Bruce Brisson of MIT originally did you have to go back to the bad old days of harsh digital and high bandwidth high negative feedback stereo power amps of the late 80’s and early 90’s. The network box in his cables was a low pass filter - usually an inductor that rolled off the highs and reduced the harshness. You put ‘em in and voilá, your system sounded better, more relaxed, more analog. Transparent did the same thing. The patent is an interesting read. The original concept was to eliminate a high frequency resonance in the cable caused by its inductance and capacitance.Sure are.

Strictly for esthetic reasons as the new monoblocks sits alongside each speaker so I had an extra 8 feet per side of extra cable.Not sure why you'd cut them down a little extra wire on the ground isn't a big deal more importantly the networks are likely tuned to the length of cable.

I found the same thing. Bass improved dramatically and I got smoother highs, too.When I began using Transparent around early 2000's the improvement was much better bass and I did not notice any roll off in the highs. I was using Krell at the time. Hard to imagine better bass the cables helped with additional definition and visceral impact.

It has been implied that Bruce and Jack had some issues when they were partners. Karen had eluded to this some time back. Now there you have it, and it may all be BS. well for one reason electrostatic speakers can be speaker cable sensitive(capacitence)
Even more reason not to. Assuming the MIT is similar to Transparent the networks are designed based on the specs of the particular length of cable.
