Mike's Systems

Well you can now!!

Mike, wow... , I'm going to listen to Sarah & share it with the neighbors. What an inspiration! "That" , is "musical"

Thanks Kev. Look what followed me home for the weekend.

I always keep the Shazam app on my phone close-by to find out the name and artist of all those great songs we hear but don’t know.
Sounds great Mike! I have a suggestion for your videos, if it wouldn't be too much trouble to include the artist and track being played in the description. (I know this one but don't always. ;) ) TIA!

You still listening to 88's.... maybe I need to hear them? For me, I don't do too well with them in my systems....

I’m a KT150 fan for most speakers, but the delicacy and detail retrieval of these vintage GL KT88’s on the AG’s is something special.

Today I have the KT150’s in. I’ve never been a 120 fan, but may give them a try too. Will eventually roll some 6SN7’s, but I’ve always liked the Stock ones Kevin supplies.

Real Purdy system Mike. Pity I could not make that live demo you offered last year. Hopefully another time.

from the photo, looks like the 6SN7's are the new production tung-sol -- i really like these, very upfront and detailed. amazing how the price of these has doubled in past several years.

anyway, when you get around to rolling 6SN7's -- NOS RCAs are the place to start and end. i find them warmer, rounder but with no loss of detail... just so nice. the red-base as well as the clear glass, black-plate are the two variants to try.

Yes they are and they are quite good. I’ll dig through my tube closet and see what I have. I have NOS Tung-Sol, RCA, Sylvania, etc. I think.

You have probably never tried real Gold Lion KT-88s in your system before. They are simply in another league sonically than any other KT-88 I have ever heard.

Oh I have. I’ve had them for years. I have 6 in total. I just hesitate to use them. They’re just superb. Magical.

I’m going to get some of Eunice’s new KT88’s and 150’s to try.
