It is a few days left and Mc. Orders have skyrocketed. This is the time to get the orders in if we've been thinking of getting a Mc. Piece. Back in May was Esoteric, now Mc., who's next????

If I'm being honest, Mc prices have always been a little low compared to the competition in the market. No one wants to pay more, but if we look at the market objectively...Mc prices have mostly been low(ish) compared to their equal counterparts.

But it does suck having to pay more for the same thing.

Who's next? ARC and SF prices are already high - so I don't see any movement there. My guess would be Classe. Dollar for dollar, their gear is outstanding value for the money - especially now with their competitors jacking up their prices.

Mike, I totally agree with you. That's why I always say Mc. is the best bang for the bucks if cost is an issue. I don't know much about about Classe to draw the same conclusion but I also believe Classe is next, then Krell and Marantz while inflation is still in check.

It will be very interesting to see how this price hike affects the McIntosh resale market. In my experiences, McIntosh gear has always held its value better than most other brands. This price hike, could actually see people make a small profit on the resale of their McIntosh gear.

I wish I had enough funds to stock up on a few pieces!

Mike

Mike,
I agree once again, if you or your friends decide to stock them up, drop me a PM :)

Ugh! The mc452 was next in line for my upgrade and looks like the increase will be $1,000. I might have to change my plan.

Glad I got my c2500 in on time.

Congrats on the new c2500, Paul! It is awesome you got it before July 4th, plenty of time off to set it up and enjoy :)

Mike,
ARC and SF are high enough, I hope ARC is not next

Oh - me too! I'm far down the ARC path. Aside from the REF10 phono stage and some sort of TBD new ARC DAC that does DSD natively - I can't think of anything else I would buy anyway (right now anyway). I'm loving my ARC setup.

I dumped all my McIntosh gear earlier this year and havent looked back. Good riddance!
