McIntosh MC303 - I got one beast of an amp ....

Sure, you had to go there :P

There's no doubt that's the one I "want" but I'm pretty much single source and the C22 looks like it's up to the task.

I do admit the being extremely curious about the Linear Tube Audio Micro Zotl preamp. It's getting a lot of praise these days.

The 303 seems to need twice the output (number wise on the preamp) than any other amp I have. So thankfully gain is not an issue with it. My Triodes will go back into service shortly and really need a single ended input to sound best. I have no doubt that the Micro Zotl will be a great match with the Triodes based on friends experiences with it here on the forum.

It appears the Mc is 15 db while the Micro Zotl is 12.4 db but can be reduced by changing the AT7's to AU7's. Tough choice but a pretty large price difference at a third.
 
I'll have to see when my credit card closes :blush: and maybe give it a try.

When I saw you grabbed the Mc amp I immediately thought the C22...

You really need to grab a STP-SE2 first though :D...
