as I know the 101mk2 are 81db.
anyone heard them with Vitus amp?
the Vitus monoblocks 100W class A can drive them?

thanks

The 101 mk2’s need power. The MBL amps built to drive them are mighty powerful.

The Class A Accuphase handled the 101MkII's nicely. They were only about 80W.

Don't just look at WPC. My 300WPC Momentum's controlled my MBL 111F's much better than the 1.2k's.

Well i did say 300 wpc, not 1.2K ..:)
80 watt would be tight on a 81db speaker , what accuphase ..?

It was about 12 years ago I sat through a demo when I was ordering my 111F's. It may have been the A-60 driving the 101's. No issues whatsoever.

A friend of mine was using his Vitus SS-101 integrated to drive his Dynaudio Consequence LE, which are only 82dB efficient.

The SS-101 amp is rated 50W in Class A and 100W in Class A/B. In class A it didn't have enough power, but in class A/B (100W @ 8 Ohm) was OK. Your monos are twice the power (100W in class A and 200W in class A/B @ 8 Ohm), so you should have no problems, unless you are a headbanger or have a very big room.

Am I right in thinking that the internal crossover is set up so that you can bi amp them and drive the bass drivers with a separate amp?

Yes, they can be bi-amped.

Just curious, how was your experience with the MBLs? Looking at your signature it looks that you got rid of them. Did you ever consider the 101 MkII as a replacement? (I noticed that you now have Wilson). Thanks!

IMO Nothing in their price range can touch the MBL. 111F's and 101E Mk II's. I had to get a great deal on my X2's to consider moving away from the 111F's. I know I will never pull the trigger on a set of XTremes but a pair of 101e MKII's still might happen.
