MBL 101e Mk2 install today

I didn’t have plans to change my amps either, but, once I tried the MBL 9008As at home there was no going back. :celebrate008_2:

Hi Ritmo,
What amps did you have before MBL? And how did the sound change when you upgraded your amplifiers?

Congrats on the sale! And even bigger congrats to the new owner!!!

Did you guys try placement on the long wall vs. the short wall? Doesn't MBL recommend the long wall?

Thank you! You should hear it! Wow.

MBL definitely doesn’t say that. In fact, I would suggest they say NOT along the long wall.

No doubt it sounds great! How can MBL not sound great? :) No doubt the stage would be larger along his 19 foot wall vs the 14 foot wall. But he may have run into bass issues, for which he has some acoustic treatments. Why wouldn't you recommend the long wall setup? MBL always sets up along the long wall at shows, and I believe their manual has the "formula" for this. If they didn't favor this approach, why write it?

And it would sound even better if he traded those Pass amps for the MBL amps. :) I love Pass on Wilsons, but those Noble amps from the The Absolute Sound cover are incredible and would be a much better option for MBL speakers that need a lot of current.

I had a D’Agostino Momentum S250. This amp was a very good match for the 101s; however, the MBLs opened up even more with the power reserves of the 9008As.

Nice!!! I bet if you had the D'Agostino monoblocks it would be a closer match, but no doubt your MBL monos would still beat them bad. And, God, if you ever get the 9011s, Wow! (or a couple more of either!!!!)

If you got a thread about your setup, please link it.

Enjoy in great health!

simply stunning. beautiful system and nice to see someone go for the white color option!
