Mass loading

Has anyone ever tried mass loading (adding weight to AG cabinets) for a possible "more meaty" sound?
Out of nothing but curiosity I thought I might experiment on my AG Duo Grossos. This of course would be below the midrange horn and on top of the cab housing the tweeter horn and woofers. The frame tubes are also already filled partially with lead shot damping the frame resonance.

Back when I was the North American Avantgarde distributor, I tried it with TRIOs & DUOs. Sounded a bit better but it was butt-ugly.

As a result, I never showed nor demo'd them mass-loaded.

However, ymmv...
