Network Audio Done Right: 24bit/192k Capable, Airplay/Network Enabled, Front-Mounted i-Device Digital Input, Pandora/Rhapsody/Napster and Internet Radio, 24bit/96k USB, and Headphone Amp

This Full-Sized DAC uses the Marantz Reference Series decoding chip and is NOW Available at an Unbeatable Price - Was $800, Now Only $399!

First and foremost, the Marantz NA7004 is a great full-sized DAC. The digital section and analog output stages are borrowed from the Marantz Reference Series, making this an unbeatable value. What’s with all the tiny DACs today? Marantz wasn’t willing to cut corners to get its high performance converter into a compact chassis. This DAC does it all, and does it beautifully! The NA-7004 was a best-seller at the original price of $800, and now at $399, its our best deal on a DAC in the shop. Audition one in your system today. We guarantee your complete satisfaction!

"Perhaps the best aspect of this streamer's performance is its highly cohesive sound, keeping everything in perspective as part of a carefully conceived whole. It managed this across the whole range of musical styles we presented it with, and indeed is very 'music agnostic', seeming just as happy with the drive of a rock band as with the more tender tones of a meditative solo."
– HiFi Choice

The Marantz NA7004 is so much more than just an incredible-sounding DAC. It’s the Bluetooth-enabled, Internet connectable, digital iPod connecting, hi-res music file playing, 24bit/96k USB decoding, audiophile-built, music-enabling hub of your audio system. This is simply the best way to get connected to all the current ways to enjoy your favorite music through your system—or through its high-current headphone amp for private listening. Take your system into the 21st century. Marantz makes it happen!

"Sonically, if you’re familiar with Marantz’s two channel CD players and amplifiers you’ll know what to expect from this streamer. There’s excitement and drama in spades. Edges of notes sound resolute and sharply defined and this helps communicate the Marantz’s relatively precise timing. For the money, the NA7004 is an impressive machine. The blend of features and performance is pretty much spot on."
– What HiFi?
Features: •Marantz Reference-Level DAC Inside
•Audiophile Build-Quality—HDAM SA2 Outputs
•Front-Panel Digital iPod Connectivity
•High-Resolution 24bit/96k USB Input
•Wireless Bluetooth Compatibility with optional RX101 Bluetooth module

"We enjoyed the NA7004, especially when listening through its digital output. It is delightfully easy to operate and it integrates with both hi-fi systems and computer networks with "your-Grandma-could- do-it" ease. AirPlay functionality makes this a simple streamer for the uninitiated. An iPod can effectively be 'docked' yet still be in your pocket – the height of convenience. What is more, the unit is aesthetically restrained and subtle and so should look comfortably at home in any equipment rack. This is a product that virtually demands our recommendation."

Ah, I didn't know there was a little brother. At that price, almost the very least of us (me), could save up over time. Problem is I thought it was a Receiver, not just a DAC. Nothing is recognizable these days, that's why I prefer the vintage stuff I grew up with. You knew what you were looking at the second you laid eyes on it. Anyway, I don't need a DAC. I don't "need" a Receiver yet either, but a receiver (or separates) is on my long list.:) Right now I need a CD player which I am currently in research and discovery mode for.

In what price range? ...You should start a thread on that; you might be very surprised by some of the excellent recommendations from our members here. :)

...From $300 to $600; no sweat. ...Or even from $3,000 to $60,000; no sweat either. :)

I'd vote for an Oppo 103. Has it all.
