Saw a pre-screening last night in 3D with my daughter. She somehow got a hold of 2 tickets.

I guess the first thing is, this is a movie for kids, although it was enjoyable as an adult it is not a thriller. It is a fairyland of cute creatures and nice digital special effects (which is what my daughter is majoring in at college so this was right up her alley). Younger kkids will love this. Older kids may too, if they are Disney fans. Those looking for a horror story will not find one here, despite what the TV ads imply.

Second [SPOILER ALERT - highlight to view], in true Disney fashion, Maleficent was wronged, so that's how she became mean. Of course she reforms somewhere in the middle and turns into the hero at the end, while the "good king" was the real monster.

Wasn't Maleficent the "bad fairy/witch" in Sleeping Beauty that put the princess under the spell?

I haven't seen Sleeping Beauty in decades.

Yes, that's her. I think she's been rated the most evil Disney character year after year. Well, now that her true story is told it will be neat to see who takes her place as reigning meanie. I'm voting for Cruella de Ville from 101 Dalmations.

I think it's about a tie for Maleficent, Cruella deVille and Ursula in Little Mermaid. Cruella is the most murderous.

If the movie Maleficent is HER story, it sounds like a rip-off of WICKED.

It's OK, I like it when it's a little racy.

A family website shouldn't have any censorship.

Well, I wonder how many kids are reading AudioShark forums.

Besides, I only used the word "porn", without any pictures, and in the pure context sense of being humorous on a film that I didn't even know ('Maleficent') before posting that word; "porn". :)

It is not even racy.

Anyway, that Disney film looks interesting. ...And 3D is my bag.

** By the way, the word itself; Maleficent seems (my own logical deduction) to be derived from the French word Mal, meaning bad, and eficent from efficient and magnificent (English words). In French: efficace and magnifique. ...Both adjectives. French feminine word:Magnificence (same exact word in English).

Mal also means (in French) mauvais, méchant. ...In English: Wicked, unpleasant, malicious, spiteful, nasty.
{I learned Latin in school.}

The French word Maléfice means "evil spell". The adjective is maléfique.
In English Maleficent is an adj: working or productive of harm or evil.

Now there is simply no way that I'm going to skip that flick when it becomes available on Blu-ray 3D. :)
